Purplewood Health is a private nursing service providing personalized Registered Nursing care, healthcare coordination and clinical advocacy in London, Ontario and surrounding communities.

Our model is designed for individuals and families who want more continuity and personalized clinical support than a traditional task-focused homecare model may provide.

At the centre of the Purplewood model is a dedicated RN relationship — someone who can become familiar with your health history, speak up for your needs and bring concerns directly to your existing care team.

Purplewood Health provides private in-home nursing, but our model is intentionally different from traditional task-focused homecare.

Rather than focusing only on completing an individual task during a visit, Purplewood is designed around clinical continuity, nursing assessment, healthcare coordination and advocacy.

Depending on the service selected, your RN may provide clinical care while also helping organize follow-up, communicate relevant information and navigate the healthcare system.

Purplewood Health is based in London, Ontario and provides private nursing services in London and surrounding communities, subject to service availability and the nature of the care required.

Some aspects of healthcare coordination and nursing support may also be provided virtually where clinically appropriate.

Purplewood supports individuals and families who are looking for private, personalized nursing support.

This may include independent older adults, individuals managing ongoing health concerns, people returning home after hospitalization, and families who want additional professional clinical support for an aging parent or loved one.

Every prospective client is assessed individually to determine whether the requested service is appropriate for Purplewood Health.

Purplewood Health exclusively employs emergency-trained Registered Nurses.

Emergency nursing develops strong experience in clinical assessment, triage, prioritization, communication and recognizing changes in a person’s condition.

We bring that experience into planned private nursing care. It does not mean Purplewood provides emergency services; rather, it gives our nurses a strong clinical foundation that can be valuable when providing ongoing assessment and support.

Depending on your individual circumstances and the service selected, a Purplewood RN may provide appropriate nursing services such as:

Some services require an appropriate physician or other authorized healthcare professional’s order, requisition or other authorization.

Yes. One important part of nursing advocacy is helping clients organize information and prepare for conversations with their healthcare providers.

Your RN may help you organize questions, understand healthcare instructions, keep track of recommendations and identify information that may need to be communicated to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Your RN does not replace your physician or specialist and does not independently make medical diagnoses or treatment decisions outside the RN’s scope of practice.

Where appropriate and with the necessary client consent or authorization, your RN can help coordinate communication with members of your existing healthcare team.

This may include helping communicate relevant nursing observations, organizing follow-up, coordinating prescription-related communication with a pharmacy, or helping ensure that appropriate information is shared with the professionals involved in your care.

Purplewood does not replace the clinical authority of your physician, specialist, pharmacist or other healthcare professional.

Yes. Supporting an aging parent from another city, province or simply from a demanding work and family schedule can be challenging.

With the client’s consent, a Purplewood RN can provide a professional clinical presence in the home and communicate appropriate updates to designated family members.

Depending on the service selected, family communication may include updates following visits, relevant health changes, medication-related information, upcoming appointments and recommended follow-up.

Depending on the membership or service selected, family communication can include appropriate updates about what was observed, meaningful changes, medication-related information, concerns that may require attention and upcoming follow-up.

No. Purplewood Health is not limited to people who require traditional homecare assistance.

Many clients are independent and want to remain that way. They may simply value having an experienced RN available to provide clinical monitoring, medication-related support, healthcare navigation and continuity as their healthcare needs evolve.

Purplewood’s 14-Day Hospital-to-Home Transition Program is a structured, time-limited nursing service designed for the period immediately following hospital discharge.

The focus is on helping bridge the transition from hospital → home → stability through appropriate nursing assessment, medication-related support, follow-up organization, monitoring and communication with the healthcare team where appropriate.

The program is not intended to replace your physician, specialist, hospital discharge plan or emergency services.

A Purplewood RN can help the client understand and organize their discharge information, review medication-related information, assess appropriate aspects of their current condition, and help organize follow-up needs.

The RN may also identify changes or concerns that should be communicated to the appropriate healthcare provider and help coordinate that communication where authorized.

The goal is to support a more organized transition home while respecting the client’s existing healthcare plan and professional care team.

A membership is designed for people who value an ongoing relationship with a dedicated RN rather than arranging a separate nursing service every time a need arises.

Depending on the membership level, the relationship can include regular in-home visits, virtual check-ins, health monitoring, healthcare coordination, family communication with consent, private in-home specimen collection and increased scheduling access.

The value is not simply the number of visits. It is the continuity of having an RN who becomes familiar with your health story and can help connect the moving pieces of your healthcare.

The Essential membership is designed for independent adults who want ongoing professional clinical monitoring and medication-related support.

It includes a comprehensive initial RN assessment, one clinical RN visit per month of up to 60 minutes, health-change monitoring, in-home safety and fall-risk assessment where appropriate, vital-sign monitoring, and pharmacy and prescription coordination.

Additional clinical visits are available.

Purplewood Care™ is the flagship membership for individuals managing ongoing health concerns or families who want a more active RN advocate involved in their healthcare.

It includes two monthly clinical RN visits, two virtual RN check-ins, Purplewood HealthTrend™ monitoring, active clinical advocacy, family communication with consent, daytime virtual RN support, quarterly private in-home specimen collection where appropriately requisitioned.

It is designed for clients who want their RN to be actively involved in the ongoing organization and coordination of their healthcare.

The White Glove RN Signature Program is Purplewood Health’s highest level of ongoing private RN support.

It is designed for clients with greater healthcare complexity or individuals and families who want a higher level of clinical presence, continuity, coordination and accessibility.

The program includes four monthly clinical RN visits, four virtual RN check-ins, advanced HealthTrend™ monitoring, an Executive Family Briefing, appointment tele/phone support, monthly private specimen collection where appropriately requisitioned, and an annual wellness review.

Purplewood HealthTrend™ is Purplewood’s approach to monitoring relevant health information over time rather than viewing each appointment as an isolated event.

Depending on the client’s needs, this may include information such as weight, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, mobility, medication adherence, hydration or sleep.

The purpose is to help the RN recognize meaningful changes or trends that may warrant further assessment, discussion or communication with the appropriate healthcare professional.

HealthTrend™ is a nursing monitoring and communication approach. It is not an autonomous diagnostic or predictive medical system.

Purplewood can provide appropriate medication-related nursing support within the RN’s scope of practice.

Depending on the service, this may include medication reconciliation, helping organize medication information, monitoring for relevant concerns, coordinating prescription renewals with the pharmacy and helping coordinate medication delivery.

Purplewood RNs do not independently prescribe medications or make changes to a physician’s treatment plan without appropriate authority.

Private in-home specimen collection is available through qualifying Purplewood services and memberships.

Where a requisition is required, the client must have a valid requisition before the collection can be performed.

Purplewood coordinates the appropriate collection service; the RN does not independently order laboratory investigations simply because a client requests them.

Purplewood Health offers several ways to access private nursing support.

• À La Carte Nursing: $150 per hour for appropriate clinical RN services.
• Hospital-to-Home: a structured 14-day transition program with defined services.
• Essential: $399 per month.
• Purplewood Care™: $899 per month.
• White Glove RN Signature: $1,799 per month.

The appropriate option depends on the client’s circumstances, clinical needs and desired level of ongoing support.

Yes. Purplewood memberships can be cancelled at any time, subject to the applicable membership terms and policies.

Purplewood’s goal is to provide a flexible ongoing relationship that can adapt as a client’s needs change.

Under Purplewood’s current membership policy, unused included services are refunded or credited in accordance with the applicable membership terms.

This is intended to ensure that clients are not simply paying for a block of nursing hours that disappears if it is not used.

Coverage varies by insurance plan and Health Spending Account.

Some clients may have coverage or reimbursement available for eligible professional nursing services. Purplewood cannot guarantee reimbursement because each plan has its own rules and eligibility requirements.

We recommend confirming eligibility and documentation requirements directly with your benefits provider before purchasing services.

You do not need to determine the right level of nursing support on your own.

During the initial conversation, we can discuss your circumstances, what kind of support you are looking for and whether a particular Purplewood service is appropriate.

The three service pathways are intentionally different:

• Hospital-to-Home for structured support following hospital discharge.
• Membership Care for an ongoing relationship with a dedicated RN.
